Our Ministries
The church greeter is the face of any ministry, which makes it one of the most important jobs in the church. The greeter welcomes regular members and visitors with a smile, hug, or handshake as they arrive at the doors. Greeters give visitors any welcome gifts the church may be distributing.
Greeters Ministry
Our ushers are focused on the following areas of responsibility. Assist in seating members and visitors and provide care for the needs of the pastor during the service. Attend to the needs of the visiting speaker or guests of honor.
Usher Ministry
This committee shall be responsible for preparing the candidates and the baptistery for the ordinance of baptism and will prepare the elements of the Lord's Supper.
Deacon Ministry
The finance team (or committee) recommends to the church leadership team proper depositories for church funds and carries out the church leadership team’s directions about the administration and disbursement of funds and about procedures for the church treasurer and the financial secretary.
Administration Ministry
We as a vehicle to share the overwhelming abundance God has showered on us with those in need in our community. It is our intention that they receive not only food for their physical hunger, but generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their spiritual and emotional hunger.
Kitchen Ministry
We plan and conduct prayer meetings or sessions, and help lead the church members to an active life of prayer. To help turn God’s House, the church building, into a House of Prayer (Isa 56:7; Matth 21:13) To pray with others in the body of Christ for specific concerns and needs of people known or unknown to us.
Prayer Ministry
Serving as a Security Specialist helps ensure the church provides the safest possible environment for children and adults attending and serving during weekly services and special events.
Security Ministry
The purpose of the Outreach Ministry is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone we meet; through personal witnessing, and the sharing of the Word of God. To provide spiritual, educational, and social events and activities throughout the community that will promote Godly relationships.
Canaan Family Resource Center (Community Outreach)
This ministry is responsible for planning and coordinating youth programs and activities inside and outside of the church. These activities are to be correlated with the activities of the church program organization in attaining objectives set forth by the church. B.L.A.S.T. - Believe, Learn, and Seek Truth
Youth Ministry (18 Month - 5th Grade)
The purpose of youth ministry is to disciple young people in a way that helps them discover and then prepares them to live out their God-given purpose for their lives. Youth ministry prioritizes faith, a focus on prayer and reading Scripture, and a mindset to be leaders in various aspects of life.
Teen Ministry (Grades 6 - 12)
College ministry is not only about creating a program for the college students in our church to join—it’s about launching our church into the life of the college in our city. There are countless college students who need to hear the gospel. Pray and see if God is calling you to be the one to share the good news.
College Ministry (18 - 24)
Leads in a process for discerning and clarifying vision then gives leadership and supervision for implementing that vision through the various ministries of the church.
